BRING YOUR ENERGY Portland Songwriters Association is a non-profit organization, run entirely by volunteers. Everyone at PSA is encouraged to join the Board of Directors, to help shape the direction of the group, and especially to help make the various PSA events successful. Board meetings are generally held at 5:30 pm at Mississippi Pizza, on the 2nd Wednesday of the month, before the showcases. Showcases are busy events. If you'd like to help out with the organization of the event, we would love to have you. We can always use people to help que up the talent, collect evaluation forms, sell tshirts, and so on. Seminars and Workshops are the foundation of PSA's commitment to serve the songwriting community. We are always looking for fresh ideas and folks who are excited to help set up these events and make them successful. Song Contest organization is quite a project and an important event during the year. Board members are part of the initial screening process, and we always welcome people to help in promoting the contest. PSA Membership development is a big job, so the more ideas and energy we can put into it the better. We want to spread the word about the growing and reinvigorated organization. If you have time to hang up posters or pass out brochures in your community, let us know. Come to the board meetings and share your ideas. The PSA Newsletter is a quarterly publication, with articles written by both the board members and other sources. Your articles and ideas are welcome, and if you're inspired to talk to potential advertisers, we'd think you were out of sight. PSA is a non-profit, but ads help us afford to continue putting together the newsletter and events. So many opportunities... join the PSA board! |
